Cytokeratin 8 Is Expressed in Human Corneoconjunctival Epithelium, Particularly in Limbal Epithelial Cells

  • Original language description

The results of this study clearly showed cytokeratin (CK)8 expression in the corneal, limbal, and conjunctival epithelium. A strong signal was detected, especially in the basal layer of the limbal epithelium. The positive staining for CK8 was maintainedduring the differentiation and migration of the limbal cells toward the corneal epithelium.
