Migrants access to healthcare in the Czech Republic. Ethical challenges
Original language description
The chapter is focused on migrants healthcare availability, health status and health determinants in Czech Republic. The most urgent problem of Czech health policy in relation to migrants remains the insufficient guarantee of legal entitlement to healthcare. This concerns the large group of migrants with long-term residence, since the current legal regulation is disadvantageous to migrants coming from countries outside the EU. One of the most important barriers to implementation of effective and evidence-based health policy leading to migrant-sensitive health system has been lack of objective data and insufficient information on migrants health and healthcare needs.
