Implant removal in revision hip arthroplasty
Original language description
The extraction of an implant is an essential step in the surgical management of prosthetic joint infection other than debridement and retention of the implant. A complete, well-done extraction of the prosthesis is a prerequisite of a favourable outcome of the patient. Although not as complex as hip replacement extraction, removal of a knee implant is a challenging procedure.
