    Atypical Course of Rheumatoid Arthritis

  • Original language description

Rheumatoid arthritis is an inflammatory disease characterized by the involvement of peripheral joints with the development of erosive changes on X-rays of the affected joints. In some cases, the disease can run an atypical course. In the following case reports, we present a patient with rheumatoid arthritis who, despite the disease lasting for several years with high clinical activity, did not develop erosive changes detectable on X-rays. The second case presents a patient with a serious pulmonary finding without significant articular involvement. Only the differential diagnostics of pulmonary findings and targeted examination of peripheral joints resulted in the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis.
