Six cases treated for Bosworth-type injuries in the period 2001 to 2004 are described in the study. Five patients were treated for an open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF), and 1 patient was treated for closed reduction and cast. All patients treated by ORIF were healed with a good outcome. In 1 case treated nonoperatively, an ankle fusion had to be performed for severe osteoarthritis. In the literature, we found another 54 cases with Bosworth-type injury. The analysis showed that morphology of the Bosworth lesion changes with age and may be divided into 3 basic types. In children and adolescents age, the dislocation of the distal fibula is associated with epiphyseolysis of the distal tibia; in young adults age, the fibula dislocates without fracture; in middle-aged and older adults, the dislocated fibula fractures

V práci je popsáno šest případů poranění hlezna Bosworthova typu léčených mezi roky 2001 a 2004. Pět pacientů bylo léčeno operačně (otevřená repozice a vnitřní fixace, ORIF), jeden konzervativně (zavřená repozice, sádrová fixace). Všechny případy léčenéORIF měly velmi dobrý výsledek, jeden léčený neoperačně skončil dézou hlezna při těžké artróze. Rozborem 54 případů zaznamenaných v literatuře bylo zjištěno, že morfologie Bosworthovy léze se mění s věkem pacienta a lze ji tak dělit do tří typů. V dětském věku a u adolescentů je dislokace distální fibuly spojena s epifyzeolýzou distální tibie, u mladých dospělých se fibula dislokuje bez fraktury a ve středním a vyšším věku se dislokovaná fibula láme. Úspěšné léčení poranění hlezna Bosworthova typu vyžaduje správnou diagnózu a včasnou chirurgickou léčbu
