This in the first case of loxoscelism to have been decribed and documented not only in the Czech Republic, but in the whole of Central Europe. Due to the globalization of trade and the transport of goods across continents, it is necessary to be preparedfor new forms of arachnidism and this threat should certainly not be underestimated. SEM study of chelicerae as well as of spinning apparatus is included in this paper.
