    Iron is an essential element which can have prooxidant and cancerogenic effects. The effect of iron, iron chelator deferiprone and some flavonoids (naringin, quercetin and myricetin) on the activity of selenoenzymes thioredoxin reductase and glutathioneperoxidase) has been studied.
