Original language description
While the number of vector-borne diseases and thier incidence in Europe is much less than in tropical and/or developing countries, there are, nevertheless, a substantial number of such infections in Europe. One of the most important ones is the zoonotic arbovirus infection Tick-Borne Encephalitis (TBE), transmitted to humans by ticks or by consumption of unpasteurized dairy products from infected cows, goats, or sheep. We therefore have tried to compile in this "working book" the most recent and relevant aspects of TBE. Digital technology allows us to review and continuously update the information in the e-book version almost in real time. Therefore, with the publication of this book, all authors and editors, as well as the publisher can continue to provide the best and latest data and the most current insights pertinent to the field of TBE. With this in mind, we urge all readers to write to us any ews, comments, or scientific input that may be relevant to patients, thier physicians, or decision makers.
