Direct identification of OXA-48-type carbapenemases by detection of β-lactone specific signal using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight (MALDI-TOF) mass spectrometry
Original language description
The results of this study confirm our hypothesis that the β- lactone-corresponding signal is specific for OXA-48-type carbapen- emases and can be used for identification of these enzymes using MALDI-TOF MS-based meropenem degradation assay. This finding enables us to update an algorithm for carbapenemase detection by MALDI-TOF MS.
