We have commenced a series of experiments to evaluate the effect of carnitine derivatives on the antineoplastic activity of mitoxantrone (MX) on various animal cancers. This report describes the therapeutic effect of MX in combination with L-carnitine (LCAR) on the growth of a solid form of Ehrlich tumour inoculated into mice. LCAR was administered subcutaneously at doses of either 200 or 100 mg/kg of weight.

Hodnocení protinádorové účinnosti kombinace L-karnitinu a mitoxantronu u zvířat se soliní formou Ehrlichova nádoru

Czech description

V předkládané práci byla sledována protinádorová účinnost mitoxantronu a jeho kombinace s L-karnitinem u myší se solidní formou Ehrlichova nádoru. Posuzovali jsme vliv látek na dobu přežití a hmotnost nádoru. V testovaném režimu byl podáván karnitin s.c.v dávce 100 nebo 200 mg/kg váhy jednu hodinu před i.v. podáním Mitoxantronu v dávce 3 nebo 6 mg/kg váhy, a to 6. a 13. den po inokulaci nádoru. Z našich výsledků vyplývá, že v případě solidní formy Ehrlichova nádoru v použitých dávkách Mitoxantronu a karnitinu a v uvedeném aplikačním režimu nedochází k terapeutickému synergismu.
