    The objective of this work was to review nutritional components of the Mediterranean diet. The Mediterranean diet, containing olive oil, fish, fruits and vegetable is associated with a low rate of cardiovascular and cancer diseases. This diet is rich inphytosterols, squalene, dietary fibre, antioxidants, phenolic substances and polyunsaturated acids.

    Předmětem práce byl přehled nutričních složek ve středozemní dietě. Středozemní dieta obsahující olivový olej, ryby, ovoce a zeleninu je spojena s úbytkem kardiovaskulárních a onkologických onemocnění. Tato dieta je bohatá na fytosteroly, skvalen, dietnívlákninu, antioxidanty, fenolické substance a polynesaturované kyseliny.
