Original language description
Three cases of massive squamous cell metaplasia in Hashimoto's thyroiditis are reported.The glandular parenchyma was replaced by hypocellular fibrous tissue follicular cells were almost absent; the majority of residual epithelial cells formed squamous nests that were partly solid and partly cystic. We believe that metaplasia was caused by Hashimoto's thyroiditis. The cases presented here are extremely rare. They may represent a diagnostic pitfall.

Czech description
Autoři popisují 3 případy masivní dlaždicobuněčné metaplázie štítné žlázy. Její parenchym byl nahrazen hypocelulárním vazivem, folikulární buňky takřka chyběly, reziduální epiteliální buňky tvořily solidní a cystická dlaždicobuněčná hnízda. metaplázie byla pravděpodobně způsobena Hashimotovou thyreoiditidou. Popsané případy představují významné diagnostické úskalí.
