Original language description
The main problem of transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt is high incidence of hepatic encephalopathy (HE). The aim of our retrospective study was to determine the incidence the risk factors of clinically significant encephalopathy. Conclusions:The risk factors for HE in our patients were older age, other than ethylic etiology of liver cirrhosis and diabetes mellitus. There was no direct relationship between the development of HE and other investigated parameters.

Czech description
Cíle: hlavním problémem transjugulárních intrahepatických portosystemických zkratů (TIPS) je vysoká incidence jaterní encefalopatie (HE). Cílem této retrospektivní studie bylo určení rizikových faktorů pro incidenci klinicky významné encefalopatie. Závěry: rizikové faktory HE u našich pacientů byly vyšší věk, jiná než etylická etiologie cirhózy jater a diabetes melitus. Nezjistili jsme žádný přímý vztah mezi vznikem HE a jinými zkoumanými parametry.
