The authors describe a case of a 68-year-old woman admitted because of signs of acute coronary syndrome caused by papillary fibroelastoma growing from the aortic valve close to the ostium of the right coronary artery. Successful cardiac surgery was performed on an emergency basis. Cardiac surgery is indicated even in asymptomatic patients with an incidental finding of papillary fibroelastoma on echocardiographic examination.

Autoři popisují případ 68leté ženy, která byla převezena do nemocnice z důvodů známek akutního koronárního syndromu způsobeného papilárním fibroelastomem vyrůstajícím z aortické chlopně blízko ostia pravé koronární tepny. V režimu emergency byl provedenúspěšný chirurgický zákrok na srdci. Chirurgický zákrok na srdci je metodou volby i u symptomatických pacientů s náhodným nálezem papilárního fibroeleastomu během echokardiografického vyšetření.
