A retrospective study of 34 patients (15 men, 19 women, aged 12 - 91, mean 54 years) was accomplished. They had gastrointestinal bleeding (obscure-overt bleeding) and underwent scintigraphy with in vivo tagged autological RBCs by means of technetium 99min the last 6 years. All our patients had negative endoscopy of the upper tract and large bowel. Enteroclysis and X-ray angiography were negative, too. Improved management of disease and acceleration of detection of the source of small bowel bleeding wasenabled by using scintigraphy with in vivo tagged autological red blood cells by means of 99mTc.

Czech description

Od roku 1998 jsme scintigrafií s in vivo označenými erytrocyty pomocí 99mTc vyšetřili celkem 34 pacientů (15 mužů, 19 žen). Průměrný věk pacientů byl 58 let (od 12 do 91 let). Všichni nemocní měli časově aktuální anamnézu krvácení do trávicího traktu z neznámého zdroje. Běžně dostupné endoskopické zobrazovací modality (gastroskopie, kolonoskopie), enteroklýza, event. rtg angiografie neodhalily zdroj krvácení. Závěr. Scintigrafie s autologními in vivo označenými erytrocyty umožnila detekovat krvácení, odhadnout polohu zdroje krvácení a zkrátit dobu diagnostického procesu.
