Original language description
E-mail is one of the most commonly used types of communications. This paper discusses characteristic features of e-mail communication as a crossover type of communication oscillating between written and spoken mode. It also attempts to how we employ in this type of "writing conversation" the co-operative principle in comparison with its usage in normal conversation. It analyses several original e-mails attempting to show how we perceive this type of communication.
