Original language description
We reviewed the literature on the expression of miRs in thyroid tumors, focusing on methodology and diagnostic and prognostic output with special concentration on miR profiles in thyroid cytological material. Meta-analyses have shown that miR panels canimprove FNA diagnostic accuracy to differentiate benign from malignant nodules. More studies are required in thyroid tumors to established miR prognostic and predictive role in clinical practice.
