The Meaning of Modern Art: A Philosophical Interpretation
Original language description
One of the key books that offer a broad, philosophically grounded interpretation of the avant-garde art both in its theory and practice. It focuses on the existential aspect of this art. It offers an interdisciplinary interpretation where the author seesthe traits of modern art mainly in the realm of newly constituted subjectivity of the artist and the perceiver. The author explains the demonstrations of such subjectivity both on the base of its attributes in selected pieces of literary, photographic or architectonic art, as well as by means of a complex philosophical concept, based mainly on Heideggers's teaching.
