Icons of power: a strategy of reinterpretation

  • Original language description

Icons of power deals with the New Kingdom Egypt military and its goal is to analyze what ancient Egyptian visual narratives of war intended by means of examining the more basic issues of representation, for example, metaphorical visual images, which we might call "icons". This study presents the New Kingdom horizon of warfare inside a pictorial matrix of separation and differentiation. It does not claim to circumscribe the subject. Power and alterity are included within the framework of a narrative analysis.
