The "recipient passive" in West Slavic: A calque from German and its grammaticalization
Original language description
The paper deals with the recipient passive in Czech, Slovak, and Upper Sorbian and shows the different pathes, on which the construction entered these languages, originally from German. While in Sorbian it is a direct calque from surrounding German dialects, in Czech it may have been built according to Standard German with following own grammaticalization. In Sorbian even style distinctions are rebuilt according to German patterns. In Slovak the construction seems to be a recent import from Czech without direct contact to German.
