    The article deals with the history of the development of the Protestant doctrine of Justification by Faith, in reference to the contact between Tubingen Theologians and the Patriarch Jeremiah II of Constantinople. The attitutde towards the nascent doctrines of the Protestant world from the Patriarch of Constantinople are explored. Reasons why certain Protestant doctrines were rejected or accepted by the Patriarch of Constantinople are also discussed.
