Udjahorresnet - The Founder of the Saite-Persian Cemetery at Abusir and his Engagement as Leading Political Person During the Trouble Years at the Beginning of the Twenty-Seventh Dynasty
Original language description
The last decades of the professional life of the former Saite dignitary Udjahorresnet, is connected with the invasion of Egypt by the Persians and the reign of their kings Cambyses and Darius I. As a true statesman he preferred a peaceful ""pharaonisation"" of the foreigners on the Egyptian throne instead of the open provocation of the Persian war-machine. After death he was buried in a large but unfinished shaft tomb at Abusir, where he founded a small cemetery for powerful Saite officials.
