Dynamik und Stabilität der Tugend in Platons Nomoi

Platons Theorie der Tugend unterscheidet sich - trotz aller formalen Ähnlichkeit - von der Aristotelischen Tugendlehre in zwei wichtigen Punkten: 1) Die Quelle der emotionellen Dynamik ist bei Platon überindividuell, insofern die Seele ein kosmologisches Prinzip darstellt. 2) Die Seele ist jedoch nicht primär von einem äußeren Element wie etwa Bildung oder Gesetz geformt, sondern von innen; Platon setzt eine vorangehende Ordnung der Emotionen voraus, die ursprünglicher ist als die nachträgliche rationale Organisation des biologischen Substrats, wie es Aristoteles versteht.
