On the Relation of Function of Reason and Process and Reality

  • Original language description

The chapter tries to formulate the kind of relation between two important books of Alfred North Whitehead: Process and Reality and Function of Reason. The author introduces the conceptual scheme developed in Process and Reality with its category of creativity as the basic metaphor of the whole system. It is shown that there is no explanation in Process and Reality, why the concept of creativity should be the basic metaphor of his philosophy. The article shows that the book Function of Reason can offer us this explanation.
