Late Roman Amphorae from the 6th Century AD House at the Site of Dodoparon in South-Eastern Bulgaria
Original language description
The excavation carried on the Late Antique settlement of Dodoparon in the south-eastern Bulgaria revealed one-room house dated by closed context into the last quarter of the 6th century AD. The house was destroyed in antiquity, preserving fragments of about 55 vessels, uncovered below roof tiles collapse and a layer of fired mud-bricks. Different types of vessels were identified within the assemblage, containing 37 different table wares, five kitchen wares, six dolia and seven transport amphorae. The amphorae, which will be discussed in the following paper, are represented by two types: Kuzmanov XIV sub-variant I, and the Late Roman 2.
