Czechs in Argentina - Brief History of Expatriates Community.
Original language description
The article outlines the historical development of Czech, hence Czechoslovak, emigration to Argentina. During the first half of the 20th century Czechoslovak emigrants formed a strong colony of sixty expatriate sports and educational associations and published fourteen journals written in Czech. The colony forged links with institutions in the country and influenced Argentinian opinion of Czechoslovakia. The paper covers the period from the beginning of the 20th century, when the first expatriate clubs were established, to the revival of Czech clubs in 2010. The main emphasis is on the Golden Era of the Czechoslovak colony in 1920-1950.
