This chapter discusses a 3rd century yuefu poem "Gushi wei Jiao Zhongqing qi" (known also as "Kongque dongnan fei"). Close reading of the poem is embedded in social issues of marriage and life of upper society in 3rd century China. Authorship is also discussed and the poem is characterized as work of professional singers performing on festive occassions in the houses of noility.
