In the Center But Not in the Middle: T. G. Masaryk and Czech Geopolitical Discussions in the Late 19th and Early 20th Centuries
Original language description
Focusing on the curious absence of the concept of the "West" in the Czech political thought at the turn from the nineteenth into the twentieth centuries, this chapter considers the thought of T. G. Masaryk, former President of Czechoslovakia, as exemplifying the unique place of Czech thought in Central Europe, aligned simultaneously apart from and together with German political and cultural discourses.
