Whitehead and Bergson on Creativity and Stagnation in Art
Original language description
In this article, he difference between inertia and dynamism in a work of art, as presented by both Alfred North Whitehead and Henri Bergson, is considered. A comparison of the ideas of these two philosophers should identify the remarkable similarity in their emphasis on the importance of the fundamental innovations in the development of art and also in revealing the fact that these innovations are drawn from a relationship with manifold reality, that they are driven by an effort to reveal reality.
