The neologisms of the COVID-19 pandemic in Czech and Russian mass media discourse: the linguistic-pragmatic aspect
Original language description
The COVID-19 pandemic has contributed to the emegence of numerous neologisms in Czech and Russian languages. This paper offers a classification of Czech and Russian neologisms, used for the representation of the COVID-19 pandemic and its consequences, according to their belonging to a certain thematic and lexical-semantic field (PPE, COVID-19 testing methods etc.). Further, the paper shows how these neologisms function in the context of Czech and Russian mass media sources.
