The IPSO European Meeting 2024 invites psychoanalysts and scholars to explore the impact of global crises on the clinical setting. In a world marked by wars, migrations, violence, pandemics, and environmental disasters, the echoes of trauma resonate in the psychoanalytic space. Drawing on Freud's concepts of the "uncanny" and "Civilization and its Discontents," this conference examines how the external turmoil enters the session room, manifesting as a collapse of language and the unspoken. Participants are encouraged to share their clinical experiences and reflections on working with patients whose inner worlds are shaped by these global upheavals.
