ORCID Adoption Monitoring Through a National and an Institutional CRIS
Original language description
Using a national Current Research Information System (CRIS) we study the adoption of Open Researcher and Contributor Identifiers (ORCID iDs) in the Czech Republic and its timeline since the ORCID registry launched. We observe a rising adoption of ORCID iDs throughout the country, attaining almost 60% of researchers in 2024. This is supported by positive trends in most institutions, which we also document. We also find that one researcher registering multiple ORCID iDs is not a frequent phenomenon. We complement the overall picture by a closer analysis of the necessary steps for an ORCID iD to get reported in the national CRIS in the case of the Czech Technical University in Prague.
