From July 11 to 16, 2024, the 24th International Symposium of the Medieval Sermon Studies Society took place in Prague. Organized as part of the OP JAK CoRe project by Lucie Doležalová (Department of Czech Literature and Literary Studies, Faculty of Arts, Charles University) and Pavel Soukup (Center for Medieval Studies, Institute of Philosophy, Czech Academy of Sciences), the symposium focused on the theme of preaching and conflict, which proved to be a compelling topic. The conference saw active participation from 46 experts representing 16 countries, along with an additional 44 passive attendees. A poster session successfully showcased 15 projects by early-career researchers.The accompanying program, including visits to Sázava and Kutná Hora, as well as excursions to the Jewish Museum, the Convent of St. Agnes, and the Nostic Library, was also highly successful. These participants were treated to a special program at the National Library, where they had the unique opportunity to study relevant medieval manuscripts. One participant from Bologna wrote: &quot;It was the first time I held a medieval manuscript in my hands, and it was just incredibly cool!&quot;Overall, the program contributed to the internationalization efforts at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, and clearly demonstrated the value of interdisciplinary medieval studies, where conflict remains purely an academic topic.
