The conference focused on how animal physiology and behaviour (ethology) was reflected in ancient Egyptian mythology, religion, and other concepts, as a number of studies suggest that ancient Egyptian society valued animals for their characteristic morphological features and behavioural patterns. These individual characteristics subsequently helped people understand, categorize, and describe the world around them.
