Responsibility of States: State of play and the way forward
Original language description
State responsibility is one of the core principles of international law. It has been codified in the form of Articles on State Responsibility, adopted by the UN International Law Commission in 2001. The Articles. published as Annex to the GA resolution 56/83, are not yet legally binding document. Nevertheless, they enjoy a high level of authority as an expression of customary international law, which is proved by the number of references in decisions of international courts and other bodies. The contribution disscuss the advantages and risks of the attempt to adopt a codification convention on this topic.
