Jevgenij B. Pashukanis - one of the prominent legal scholars - Marxists of the last century, public official, one of the founders of Soviet law-and-state legal doctrine, and author of the 1936 Constitution of the USSR. He played an instrumental part in the formation and development of Soviet law and jurisprudence, and also helped to lay the foundation of the diplomacy and diplomatic service of the Soviet Union. As a result, the name of J. Pashukanis is well-known not only among legal scholars but also in diplomatic circles. In spite of all hardship he has to overcome, J. Pashukanis worked relentlessly for his country, and as such he is remembered today.
