Original language description
Since the fall of communism in 1989, Israel has developed close relations with Central European countries. Today, Israel and Central Europe have extensive political, economic, and even security relations. On the diplomatic level, in the European Union and the United Nations, Central European countries often support Israel. The connection between Israel and the countries of Central Europe has been based on historical, cultural, ideological, and ancestral ties that make bilateral relations close and intense. However, the past has not only been the source of a special bond but also deep conflicts; mainly about historical narratives. This essay examines bilateral relations between Israel and the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Poland and analyses foreign policy positions and their formation.
