Continuous Individual Mobilities and New Forms of Integration: The Example of Czech Diaspora
Original language description
The chapter deals with new forms of migration from the Czech Republic to other countries. It analyses so-called migration biographies as a specific genre of narratives about journeys and stays abroad in the context of their own life trajectories. Currently, these are multiple migrations that merge with mobilities and dual residences, and are more about expanding the action radio than about staying in one place. Narratives thus often begin with education-related stays and continue with descriptions of career-building decision-making processes, where foreign countries of origin generally play comparable roles.
