Original language description
The Central, Eastern and South-Eastern European legislator dataset has been compiled for the purpose of comparative research on elected members of parliament. It is therefore of interest to scholars researching parliaments, political parties and elections in the region. Across a total of 18 post-soviet and post-communist countries, the dataset includes 30577 observations of 17041 unique elected legislators, covering 173 elections to lower or single legislative chambers. Additionally, it includes information on legislators' parliamentary experience as measured by terms served in the legislative chamber. The data collection started in March 2024 and ended in December 2025. The final dataset was compiled in December 2025 and published in March 2026.
