In the Czech Republic so far there is no organic interconnection and cooperation between gays, lesbians and feminists. Czech feminist activists and scholars active in so-called "gender debates" rarely appear in discussions, which concern rights of lesbians and gays (for example the Registered Partnership, Antidiscrimination Law, fight against homophobia and others) even though such themes are inextricably linked. In both the academic discourse and media presentation there exists an abyss between the themes of "women and gender" and "homosexuality and homophobia". These topics are understood and presented separately, not as one mutually intertwined problem of heterosexism in Czech society. Both sides have a tendency to promote their "own" interests through a narrow definition of their own identity as "gays and lesbians", and feminists respectively. V České republice zatím neexistuje žádné organické propojení a spolupráce mezi gay, lesbickými ženami a femistkami/feministy. České feministické aktivistky a akademičky, aktivní v tzv. "genderových debatách" se většinou neúčastní diskusí, týkajících se práv gayů a leseb (např. Registrované partnerství, Antidiskriminační zákon, boj proti homofobii atd.) ačkoli jsou témata obou oblastí neoddělitelně spjata. V akademickém diskurzu i v mediální prezentaci existuje propast mezi tématem "ženy a gender" a "homosexualita a homofobie". Tato témata jsou chápána a prezentována odděleně, ne jako jeden vzájemně propojený problém heterosexismu v české společnosti. Obě strany mají tendenci prosazovat "vlastní" zájmy za pomoci úzké definicie vlastní identity jako "gayové a lesby", respektive "feministky". Důvod této separace a neschopnosti porozumnění souvisí, jak ukazuje autorka, se způsobem, jímž česká média přistupovala k debatám o homosexualitě a feminismu v průběhu patnácti let od pádu komunismu.
