Early Voices of Dissent : Czechoslovak Student Opposition at the Beginning of the 1960s
Original language description
The chapter fouces on student opposition in Czechoslovakia in the 1960s. Instead of emphasizing the spectacular protests of 1968, it traces the frictions and conflicts between students and the central authorities back into the early 1960s. By examining the student demands voiced at the founding conference of the Youth Higher Education Committee in Prague on 30 November 1963, this chapter will expose the language and context in which students articulated their dissent.
