Der Artikel bezieht sich auf Patočkas Thematisierung der &apos;natürlichen Welt&apos; und auf seine kritische Überlegungen zum Cartesianismus. Im Zentrum stehen aber Patočkas Aufsätze Cartesianismus und Phänomenologie (1976) und Was ist Phänomenologie? (1975-76), in denen sich die Kritik am Cartesianismus mit einer (stark an Heidegger orientierten) Vermittlung zwischen Husserls Phänomenologie und Heideggers Denken verbindet.
