    The chapter first examines Stein&apos;s conception of the person and contrasts it with Husserl&apos;s basic ideas. In a second step, Scheler&apos;s explanations in his book on Formalism are considered, before it is finally shown what Edith Stein&apos;s genuine contribution, compared to Husserl and Scheler, is in the determination of the personal and its unity.
