    The 5th Annual Belarusian Studies in the 21st Century Conference took place on 21-22 February 2020 at the UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies (UCL SSEES) in London. The Annual Lecture on Belarusian Studies titled &quot;Bagpipe Player and Painted Birds. Belarusian Histories of the People in the Marshes&quot; was delivered by Prof Thomas Bohn (Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen, Germany). The conference served as a multidisciplinary platform of Belarusian studies and offered a rare networking opportunity for researchers of the Eastern Europe. The conference organising committee included Dr Alena Marková, Peter Braga, Dr Stephen Hall, Prof Yarik Kryvoi (co-chair) and Prof Andrew Wilson (co-chair). The conference was supported by the British Association for Slavonic &amp; East European Studies (https://belarusdigest.com/story/5th-annual-belarusian-studies-in-the-21st-century-conference/).
