Humour and Laughter in the Time of Coronavirus: A Theological Interpretation
Original language description
The aim of the article is to respond to the question how to react on coronavirus faithfully from the perspective of the theme of humour and laughter. On the one hand, it analyses the situation of the coronavirus pandemic and tries to discover if humour and laughter can be a proper answer to it and, if yes, why. On the other hand, the paper includes more general reflection of humour and laugher from the perspective of theological anthropology. With both of these goals in mind, it proceeds to discuss the relationship between humour and laughter with the theme of freedom, then it deals with the ability of humour to dethrone false gods, and, finally, it focuses on the topic of humour as the means of enhancing the sense of togetherness.
