Original language description
The article shows that the newly established Czechoslovak Republic was not immune to anti-Semitism, despite the official state policy. Negligence of censorship and the programmatic racism of certain groups manifested visually in newspapers, books, and exhibitions, supposedly serving to consolidate the nation by eliminating "negative" ethnic elements. It also describes the dramatic rise of anti-Semitism during the so-called Second Republic, the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, and the Slovak Republic, when anti-Jewish expressions were subordinated to or reinforced by Nazi propaganda.
