"Blessed Are You Who Are Poor": The Poor in Together towards Life, The Cape Town Commitment, and Evangelii Gaudium
Original language description
The article explores the issue of the poor in three recent major documents on mission and evangelism/evangelization, namely, Together towards Life, The Cape Town Commitment, and Evangelii Gaudium. The article makes a case for a "synoptic" reading of thethree documents on the topic, arguing that it can help the reader benefit from the rich ecclesial and theological traditions which are behind the texts. Moreover, it can engender more mature and appropriate responses for both missiology and mission on this important issue.
