The choice of figures is designed to conclude the people who experienced the Bolshevik Revolution, emigration and then the Second World War. They had to inhabit different religious and cultural context and had to search Christianity which could bring light. The chapter namely concentrate on theology and experience of light in the world and life of Father Sergei Bulgakov, Mother Maria Skobstova, Vladimir Lossy and Archimadnrite Sophrony.
