Witnesses of a New Liturgical Practice: the Ordines missae of Three Utraquist Manuscripts
Original language description
The article deals with the reforms of the Latin ordo misae and canon missae in the Utraquist Church in the second half of the 16th century. Attention is particalarly paid to the manuscript of the Voltářní knihy Adama Táborského. The analysis of three ordines missae that are included in the manuscript reveals their significant similarity with the local liturgical abuses of the Roman ordo and canon missae reported in the protocols of the Utraquist consistory of the same period. It is claimed that the Voltářní knihy represented an attempt to incorporate some local radical liturgical reforms into the traditional liturgical forms practiced within the Utraquist Church.
