Internal ferrocenylalkynes - a comparative electrochemical and mass spectrometric study

  • Original language description

A series of ferrocenylakynes FcCztbnd6CY with various substituents Y was studied by spectral and electrochemical methods. In EI mass spectra, the alkynes exhibit fragmentation that occurs in the ferrocene and substituent parts separately as well as cooperative processes. Correlations of the ferrocene/ferrocenium redox potential with substituent constants shows that the triple bond relays the substituent influence onto the ferrocene unit.
